„Production Preparation Process“ (3P) in der Kleinserienmontage im Schienenfahrzeugbau *

Mit sinkenden Serienmengen im Maschinen- und Anlagenbau wandeln sich die Anforderungen an die Produktionsplanung und -gestaltung. Schnelligkeit und Effizienz gewinnen in diesem Bereich an Bedeutung. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird der vom „Toyota-Produktionssystem“ stammende „Production Preparation Process“ (3P) als ein erfolgversprechendes Konzept der Prozessplanung vorgestellt. Ein bei Bombardier Transportation durchgeführtes Projekt verdeutlicht, wie 3P in der Kleinserienproduktion erfolgreich angewendet werden kann und welche erfolgskritischen Besonderheiten es im Vergleich zur klassischen Prozessplanung aufweist.

Applying the Production Preparation Process (3P) in small series production of the railway vehicle industry

Decreasing order volumes are continuously changing the requirements for production design in the machine building and rail industry. Time and efficiency are becoming more important aspects of the planning process itself. To address these challenges, the Production Preparation Process (3P), a promising concept rooted in the Toyota Production System, is introduced in this article. The case study of a 3P application at Bombardier Transportation shows, how this concept can be applied successfully in the small series production and to which results it can lead.
